Yellow Family
The yellow family moves from restrained paper-like warmth to vivid attention-grabbing signals. It works well when the interface needs lift, sunlight, or optimistic energy.
Yellow ochre is the oldest known pigment, used in prehistoric art worldwide. In Imperial China, bright yellow was reserved exclusively for the emperor — the Yellow Emperor (Huangdi) is a mythological progenitor of Chinese civilization. In Japan, yellow (ki) appears in the golden pavilion (Kinkaku-ji) and autumn ginkgo celebrations. In Western art, yellow symbolizes both divinity (gold leaf in religious icons) and caution (hazard signs). Van Gogh's iconic sunflowers elevated yellow to a symbol of hope and intensity.
