Abyssal Bioluminescence

The ocean's color range varies dramatically with depth. Surface waters are bright aqua and cerulean. Below the photic zone — where photosynthesis stops and light becomes rare — the palette shifts to deep navy, black, and the occasional vivid blue-green of bioluminescence. This palette captures the deeper, darker register of marine environments.

200 meters down, a submersible's lights catch a bioluminescent jellyfish. The water outside the porthole is the deepest blue-black — not empty but dense, full of pressure and dark life.

Editorial direction

Collections should do more than group swatches. Each one should read like a usable design direction with a clear emotional lane and a real application surface.

This detail route is the missing layer between a generic palette gallery and a convincing design reference. It gives the set a specific point of view.
